Question : COMPENSATORY EMPLOYMENT BY KRC

(a) whether large tracts of private lands were acquired for track laying of Konkan Railways against compensation and incentives for the displaced families by way of employment, allotment of railway stalls etc;

(b) if so, whether the KRC has fully implemented the rehabilitation scheme for displaced families through compensatory employment in Class III and IV categories and also allotment of railway station stalls; and

(c) if so, the details thereof alongwith total number of beneficiaries in each category?

(a): Konkan Railway has acquired the required stretches of private lands for construction of Railway Line, for which due compensation was paid as decided by the respective State Governments. No incentives were agreed upon other than payment of compensation.

(b): No rehabilitation schemes were approved for this Railway project.

(c): Does not arise.
