Question : Digital India Scheme in Bihar

Will the Minister of ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY be pleased to state:-

(a) the details of the districts in Bihar where Digital India Scheme is implemented;
(b) the District-wise number of persons in Bihar benefited through this scheme;
(c) the amount of funds allocated/released/utilized in Bihar under the aforesaid scheme, district-wise; and
(d) the reason as to why the full utilization of the funds allocated in Bihar under the scheme was not done?

Answer given by the minister

(a): Digital India is an umbrella programme, under which all the 38 districts in the State of Bihar are getting benefitted. The vision of Digital India Programme is to connect all Indians, empower them and transform them towards a Digital Society.

(b): Every citizen can avail the e-Services of eDistrict project either through concerned department, online & through Common Services Centres (CSCs), along with the Government-to-Citizen (G2C) e-Services available on CSC’s Digital Seva Portal (DSP). Total 179.29 lakh transactions have been recorded during FY2019-20, in the State of Bihar and 13.37 crore transaction have been recorded under eTaal-2.0 project over 67 e-Services integrated with eTaal-2.0 platform.

(c): Under National Rollout of eDistrict Mission Mode Project (MMP) in the State of Bihar, an amount of Rs.13.62 Crores have been released till date. Fund disbursed under the aforesaid scheme is done state wise and not districtwide.

(d): The schemes are ongoing schemes and funds are being utilized progressively.
