(a) whether the Union Government has received any proposal from the Government of Maharashtra for release of Central assistance under Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP);
(b) if so, the details and status thereof; and
(c) the time by which the said proposal is likely to be finalized along with the reasons for delay, if any?

(a) to (c) Since inception, 64 Major Medium Irrigation (MMI) projects were included under AIBP in Maharashtra State. Out of which 37 MMI projects were completed and 27 are ongoing. An amount of Rs. 11610.41 Crore has been released towards Central Assistance to Maharashtra upto March 2015 under AIBP.
During the Financial Year 2014-15, Rs. 32 crores has been released to 7 projects as a partial release due to limited availability of funds for AIBP in 2014-15.
