(a): whether the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development Institute encourages training and technical marketing and provides financial capital support to the entrepreneurs from weaker sections of the society; and

(a) & (b) Government of India, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises provides training to the existing and prospective entrepreneurs through its field institutes, i.e., Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institutes (MSME-DIs) spread all over the country.Under the Package for Promotion of Micro & Small Enterprises, announced on 27th Feb., 2007, 20% of the Entrepreneurship Development Programmes are being organised for SCs/STs, Women and Physically challenged persons with a stipend of Rs.500/- per capita per month for the duration of the training. MSME-DIs do not provide any direct financial capital support to the entrepreneurs.
