(a) whether the Government proposes to create more telecom districts and General Post
Offices (GPOs) in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise including Chhattisgarh; and
(c) the present status of creation of such districts and GPOs, State-wise?

(a) Department of Telecommunications has concept to Secondary Switching Areas (SSAs) in
place of Telecom District. At present there is no proposal to create more Secondary Switching
Areas (SSAs) & GPOs in the Country.
(b) & (c) Do not arise in view of (a) above.
