Question : Training under Suryamitra Programme

(a) the number of rural and urban youth that have been trained under the Suryamitra Skill Development Programme during the last three years and the current year;
(b) the number of trainees who were employed within three months of being trained during the said period, state and gender-wise;
(C) the number of trainees who are currently unemployed, State and gender-wise; and
(d) the details of the financing of the scheme including the aggregate amount of money spent and amount spent per trainee, State-wise?

(a) Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is implementing the Suryamitra Skill Development Programme through National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), an autonomous organization under the Ministry. During the last three financial years (2018-19 to 2020-21), a total number of 14,055 and 16,947 youths have been trained in rural and urban areas respectively under the Suryamitra Skill Development Programme. For the current financial year, no training programmes have been sanctioned.
(b) The state wise and gender-wise number of trainees who gained employment within three months of being trained during the last three financial years (2018-19 to 2020-21) to is given at Annexure-I.
(c) The state wise, gender-wise number of trainees who gained employment after training under the Suryamitra Programme for the last three financial years (2018-19 to 2020-21) is given at Annexure-II. After receipt of information that a trainee has gained employment, his employment status is not monitored. Hence, the number of trainees currently unemployed is not known.
(d) Ministry of New and Renewable Energy follows the financing norms of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in determining course fee, assessment charges, boarding & lodging charges and payment mechanism for Suryamitra Skill Development Programme.
The State-wise aggregate amount released and amount released per trainee during last three financial years (2018-19 to 2020-21) is given at Annexure-III. For the current financial year programme, no releases have been made.
