Question : URBAN SECTOR REFORMS IN MEERUT



(a) whether any City Development Plan (CDP) and Detailed Project Report (DPR) prepared by Nagar Nigam, Meerut and approved by State Level Steering Committee (SLSC) of Uttar Pradesh in respect of Urban Sector Reforms in Meerut District, has been received for consideration of Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee of Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM);

(b) if so, the details thereof and the total fund sought in the said DPR; and

(c) the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a) to (c): The City Development Plan for Meerut submitted by the City has been appraised. There are two DPRs viz. Municipal Solid Waste Management and Water Supply for Meerut which have been approved under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission(JNNURM) for the City of Meerut for a total project cost of Rs. 295.60 cr. and Additional Central Assistance (ACA) commitment of Rs. 147.80 cr. The total ACA released so far is Rs. 39.77 cr.
