Question : Jobs in Private Sector for DA

a) the details of jobs/employment provided to the differently abled in the private sector during the last one year and the current year; and
b) whether the Government has initiated any scheme to provide one lakh jobs to differently abled during the current year and if so, the details thereof; and
c) whether the Government has issued any directives to private sector to create jobs for the differently abled, if so, the details thereof and the response received therefrom?

(a) A total of 14703 and 8129 persons with disabilities during the last financial year 2014-15 and the current year (as on date 15.10.2015) respectively were provided assistance for self-employment in the form of concessional loans through National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation, a Public Sector Undertaking under the administrative control of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

(b) & (c): The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) has announced the National Action Plan (NAP) for skill development of Persons with Disabilities in March, 2015. The NAP has set a target for providing skill training to one lakh Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the current year in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The skill training received by PwDs under this initiative would facilitate them for obtaining wage employment in both Public and Private Sector and self-employment.
