Question : Mandatory Disclosure by Schools

(a) whether it is a fact that the CBSE has issued direction and made it mandatory for
all the schools to make public information about their functioning under 130 heads in
order to provide greater transparency and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government has noted that many schools are denying the said
information to be disclosed due to its sensitivity and if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the number of schools that complied with Government''s direction within the
stipulated time period along with the punitive action taken/proposed to be taken by
the Government against those schools which have not submitted information within
time

(a) to (c) : Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued circulars dated
29.09.2016 and 10.11.2016 for disclosure of information by its affiliated schools
through Online web link. Circulars have been uploaded on website of CBSE
(www.cbse.nic.in). There were some reservations initially raised by some schools.
After deliberations with stakeholders, CBSE made an internal review and obtained
information from its affiliated schools. 11726 schools out of 14157 private
independent schools have completely filled the information. The Board has extended
the last date for submitting the required information upto 15.12.2016
