(a) whether the Government has taken any action on representation to shape out new education syllabus for development of defence industries and defence related matter in con- sultation with Defence and Research Develop- ment Organisation (DRDO) to provide skilled manpower to domestic defence industries; and
(b) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) collaborates with various universities/academia to impart specialised education in the field of defence and strategic studies to provide skilled manpower to domestic defence industries in the country.
University Grant Commission (UGC) has set up an Expert Committee to review the existing syllabus of defence and strategic studies at Under Graduate/ Post Graduate and M. Phil./Ph.D. levels. UGC has also decided to support the upgradation of the department of defence and strategic studies in 10 universities in the country during XII Plan period. Initially, proposals from the following five Universities have been invited for upgradation of existing department of defence and strategic studies.
