Question : Integrated Security System

(a) the total amount spent by Railways on the Integrated Security System(ISS);
(b) whether the Railways has noticed any laxity in use of ISS;
(c) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Government thereto; and

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (d) OF STARRED QUESTION NO. 152 BY SHRI MANSUKHBHAI DHANJIBHAI VASAVA AND SHRI PRATAPRAO JADHAV TO BE ANSWERED IN LOK SABHA ON 27.07.2016 REGARDING INTEGRATED SECURITY SYSTEM

(a) : The total amount spent so far by Railways on Integrated Security System (ISS) stands at ? 148.20 crore.
(b) & (c): No, Madam. No such report has been received regarding any laxity in the use of ISS. Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras have already been installed over 94 railway stations under ISS. Besides above, 129 baggage scanners and 27 under-vehicle scanning system have also been provided at nominated stations under ISS. Close monitoring is being done and all the zonal railways have been advised to ensure early implementation of the Integrated Security System at identified sensitive stations.
(d): Railway Protection Force staff have been deployed for round the clock surveillance through CCTV cameras and utilization of other security equipment provided under ISS with close monitoring at senior level. As and when malfunctioning of any security equipment is reported, necessary remedial measures are taken for repair of the equipment.
