Question : Development of Tourism in Tripura

(a) whether the Government is aware that a beautiful tourist spot has been discovered named "Chabimurra" in Tripura;
(b) if so, the measures taken by the Government to develop this place and if not, the reasons therefor; and
(c) the funds allocated by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c): Yes, Madam. The Ministry of Tourism sanctioned an amount of Rs.482.24 lakh for the project “Destination Development of Chabimura in Tripura” in the year 2010-11 under the Product/Infrastructure Development for Destination and Circuit (PIDDC) scheme.

An amount of Rs.99.59 crore has also been sanctioned under North East Circuit of Swadesh Darshan Scheme during 2015-16 for development of North East Circuit; Agartala - Sipahijala - Melaghar - Udaipur - Amarpur - Tirthamukh - Mandirghat – Dumboor- Narikel Kunja - Gandachara – Ambassa, out of which Rs.4.87 crore is earmarked for development of Chhabimura.
