Question : IRREGULARITIES BY OMCS



(a) whether the Government has received cases of corruption and complaints against Upstream / Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs)/several officers in the country;

(b) if so, the details of such complaints received during each of the last three years and the current year, OMCs-wise;

(c) the number of cases of irregularities/malpractices established/ proved to be true during the said period and the number of persons penalized/suspended in such cases, OMCs and case-wise;

(d) the number of cases pending at present on which action is yet to be taken along with the reasons therefor; and

(e) the corrective steps taken by the Government to check irregularities/malpractices in various OMCs?

The corrective steps taken by the Government is a dynamic and continuous process. All cases are examined through a multilayered mechanism before penal action is initiated against the Official. Guidelines for vigilance have been laid down by CVC and Ministry through CVOs oversees the compliance with these guidelines.
