Question : Economic Corridors by Global Consultancy Firm

(a) whether the Ministry has conducted any study for identifying economic corridor by global consultancy firm, if so, the details thereof along with the number of economic corridors identified;

(b) whether the Government proposes to come up with a 3 lakh crore economic corridor project to develop 35000 kms of highways for faster movement of freight, if so, the details thereof;

(c) the States that are going to be covered under the economic corridors;

(d) whether the project will also develop feeder routes providing connectivity to logistic hubs besides developing economic corridors; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) and (b) M/s A.T.Kearney has been appointed under the World Bank Technical Assistance program for a study on Logistics Efficiency Enhancement Program (LEEP). The study has identified Economic Corridors, Inter Corridors and Feeder Routes under Logistic Efficiency Enhancement Program which is to be developed under Bharatmala Pariyojana. Details of corridor are as below:

Economic Corridor : 44 Nos.
Inter Corridor : 65 Nos.
Feeder Routes : 115 Nos.

(c) States/UT covered in the program are Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal.

(d) and (e) NHAI is in process of preparation of DPR for Logistic Hubs and connecting Feeder Routes.
