Question : National Adaptation Fund on Climate Change

(a) the details of funds sanctioned and utilised as part of the National Adaptation Fund on
Climate Change (NAFCC);
(b) whether it is a fact that the funds allocated towards NAFCC have reduced over the time;
(c) the details of projects sanctioned, funds allocated and utilised towards such projects under the NAFCC in various states including Andhra Pradesh; and
(d) whether the Government is planning to support the adaptation measures of the States which have suffered massive losses in the past few years due to increasing natural disasters and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d) The National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC) was established to support adaptation activities in the States and Union Territories (UTs) of India that are vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change. NAFCC is implemented in project mode and till date, 30 projects are sanctioned in 27 States and UTs including Andhra Pradesh with total project cost of Rs 847.48 crores.

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) is the National Implementing Entity for NAFCC and project funds are released to NABARD in instalments based on the performance of the projects and NAFCC guidelines.A statement indicating projects sanctioned and amount released to NABARD, State/UT wise under NAFCC is placed at Annexure.
