(a) whether the Government has received any representation regarding irregularity in conducting census of Pathari Caste in Chhattisgarh State;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Pathari Caste in Chhattisgarh State is getting the benefits of the Scheduled Tribe;

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(e) the action taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): No, Madam.

(b): Question does not arise.

(c) to (e): The ‘Pathari’ community has been notified as Scheduled Tribe in the State of Chattisgarh which is mentioned at Sl.No.35 of the List of Scheduled Tribes in the State. Accordingly, the persons belonging to the ‘Pathari’ community of the Chhattisgarh State are entitled to the benefits meant for STs in that State. The Govt. of Chhattisgarh has referred the matter of variation in the Hindi Spelling of “Pathari”. This has been processed as per the prescribed modalities.
