(c) if so, the action taken by the Railways thereon?

Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (SHRI R.VELU)

(a) to (c): There are total 5 level crossings (LCs) in and around Neemuch, Mandsaur & Jaora Railway stations. Traffic density at these locations is given as under:

Station	L.CNo	Traffic density	Year of census	Train vehicle units	(TVUs)
Neemuch	120/A	26247	Oct.2002
Mandsaur	152/A	22661	March 2004
Jaora	173/C	23994	May 2002
Jaora	176/A	103716	May 2002
Jaora	177/A	54435	Feb.2006

Traffic density at LC No. 177/A has come down to 54,435 Train Vehicle Units (TVUs) as per fresh census taken on this level crossing in Feb.2006. The reduction in traffic density at this level crossing is due to restriction imposed on the movement of heavy vehicles passing through this level crossing by Jaora city authorities since last one year. Chief Engineer (PWD) Bridge Construction Circle/Bhopal had submitted a proposal in March 2005 for construction of Rail Over Bridge (ROB) in lieu of LC No. 177/A on cost sharing basis but due to traffic density less than qualifying limit of one lakh TVU, work can be considered on deposit terms. State Government has been advised by zonal railway accordingly. No other proposal for Road Over Bridge at other level crossing has been received by the Railways.
