(a) to (c): Southern States of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh are covered under Central, Southern, South Central, South Western and East Coast Railways. Details of rail lines doubled during the last three years i.e. 2007-08 to 2009-10 in these five Zonal Railways are as under:-

Details of the ongoing doubling projects in the aforesaid five Zonal Railways alongwith anticipated expenditure on each project upto 31-03-2010 is already available in the Railway Budget documents for the year 2010-11. Railways have huge throwforward of projects with limited resources. The time of completion for projects wherever fixed is indicated as under:-

1. Attipattu- Southern Korukkupet-Ennore (12 km) commissioned. Korukkupettai Ennore-Attipattu (6 km) is targeted 3rd line (18 km) for completion during 2010-11.
2. Irugur-Coimbatore Southern All works completed except 65 metre (18 km) length, target is 30-06-2010.
3. Calicut-Mangalore Southern Work on 218 km completed. Netravati- (221 km) Kankanadi (3 km) target is 2010-11.
4. Cheppad-Kayankulam Southern Target is 2010-11. (7.76 km)
5. Mavelikara-Chengannur Southern Target is 2010-11. (12.30 km)
6. Cheppad-Haripad Southern Target is 2010-11. (5.28 km)
7. Arsikere-Birur South Western Target is 2010-11. (44.28 km)
8. Dharwad-Kambarganvi South Western Dharwad -Mugad completed. (26.68 km) Balance target is 31-03-2011.
9. Ramanagaram-Mysore South Western Ramanagaram-Sethihalli (18 km) (91.5 km) and Mysore-Naganahalli (8 km) are targeted for completion during 2010-11.
10. Gooty-Renigunta South Central 65 km completed. Further, 62 Km. is (Phase-II) (151.04 km) targeted for completion during 2010-11.
11. Raichur-Guntakal South Central 20 km is targeted for completion (81.1 km) during 2010-11.
12. Kottavalasa-Simhachalam East Coast Target is 2010-11. 4th line (16.69 Km)
13. Rajatgarh-Barang East Coast Target is 2010-11. (20 km)
14. Sambalpur-Rengali East Coast Sambalpur-Sason completed. Balance (22.7 km) targeted for 2010-11.
15. Cuttack-Barang East Coast Target is 2010-11. (12 km)
16. Khurda Road-Barang East Coast Target is 2010-11. 3rd line ( 35 km)
