Question : Programme Officers

a) whether a post of Programme Officer has be sanctioned if there are 5 or more than 5 projects;

b) whether Corporation in many cities including Ahmedabad and Surat have more than 5 projects, but no post of Progrmme Officer has been sanctioned in any of these Municipal Corporations by the Central Government;

c) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor; State-wise including Gujarat;

d) the steps taken by the Government in this regard; and

e) the time by which the post of Programme officer in the said corporations are likely to be sanctioned/appointed?

(a) : Government through the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation monitors on-going Central Sector Infrastructure Projects costing Rs. 150 crore and above on time and cost overruns, on the basis of information provided by the project implementation agencies. As on 01.06.2015 a total 766 projects were on the monitor of this Ministry. There is no provision to sanction any post of Programme Officer by this Ministry.
