Question : Concessions to Private Hospitals

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether several concessions/ facilities are extended to private hospitals/ nursing homes/charitable hospitals in the country by the Government;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons for providing such facilities to these hospitals;

(c) whether the norms formulated for such concessions are complied to by the said institutions and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) whether the Government has got any mechanism in place to monitor them and take action for not complying with the norms and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Health is a State subject. It is within the domain of State/UT to extend concessions/facilities to private hospitals/nursing homes/charitable hospitals. Details in this regard are not compiled and maintained centrally.

(c) & (d): Health being a State subject, formulation of norms regarding concessions to private hospitals/nursing homes/charitable hospitals, monitoring the compliance and taking action for violation against such institutions is the responsibility of the State/UT Government. Details in this regard are not maintained centrally.
