(a) the number of foreign investment proposals received to set up the agro-based industries in the country during the last three years;
(b) if so, the projects approved and implemented so far, state-wise;
(c) whether the Government also propose to set up such industries in the tribal areas; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): The Ministry of Small Scale Industries and Agro and Rural Industries has not received any foreign investment proposal for setting up agro based industries in the country during the last three years. However, the details of proposals approved including proposals received by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion to set up agro based industries during the last three years i.e., 1.1.1997 to 31.12.1999 is enclosed as Annexure. Implementation details are not maintained centrally.
(c) & (d): The choice of location depends on the commercial judgement of the investor.
