(a) whether the Government have decided to develop Ahmedabad Airport as a Joint Venture Project;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether modalities have been finalised for the project;
(d) if so, the details in this regard; and
(e) the time by which the construction work for development of Ahmedabad Airport is likely to be commenced?

(b, (c) & (d) :- Do not arise.
(e) :- Airports Authority of India (AAI) has upgraded
Ahmedabad Airport as International Airport for operation of
B-747 class of aircraft. In phase-I, the existing runway
alongwith associated pavement is being strengthened and
extended to 11,500 feet. These works are scheduled to be
completed by December, 2000.
