Question : Stray Animals in Urban Residential Areas


(a) whether the Government proposes to provide protection to the citizens against the terror of the stray animals like bulls, dogs, monkeys in urban residential areas and if so, the details thereof;

(b) if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government has any data regarding deaths taking place on account of terror created by such animals among the common citizens as well as the tourists at various tourist spots and places of religious importance as it affects tourism also, if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor; and

(e) whether the Government is not sensitive towards the deaths occurring on account of the stray animals and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to(e) Public health, sanitation and cattle pounds fall under the jurisdiction of the State/UT Governments. The data relating to deaths due to stray animals rests with the respective State/UT Governments.
