(a) According to information received from Government of Orissa and M/s Neelanchal Ispat Nigam Ltd., 634 families have been displaced due to setting up of Steel Plant by the Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL) at Duburi in Orissa
(b) Yes, Sir.
(c) Efforts have been made to rehabilitate the displaced persons, according to the comprehensive guidelines issued by the Government of Orissa . Besides rehabilitation by Govt. of Orissa, sizeable number of oustees have been provided with indirect employment at the construction site. As per the recent survey done by NINL, out of 634 nominated job seekers of the oustee families, 288 are working with different contractors at the project site. In addition, 17 oustees are undergoing ITI training at ITI, Cuttack at the expenses of NINL. Another 17 oustees, who have passed matriculation examination, are also being considered for ITI training. Up to date status of 634 oustees is as under:
