Question : SPECIFICATIONS FOR BUSES UNDER JNNURM

(a) whether the Government proposes to scale down the specifications for buses run under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) and if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;

(b) whether the scaling down of specifications may reduce the facilities offered by the present buses plying under JNNURM;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken/ being taken by the Government in this regard;

(d) whether the low floor buses plying at present under JNNURM do not have fresh air circulation; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken/being taken by the Government in this regards?

(a): No, Madam. There is no such proposal to scale down the specification for buses sanctioned under JnNURM.

(b) & (c): Do not arise.

(d): There are provisions of sliding glasses and roof hatches which provide adequate fresh circulation if needed.

(e): Does not arise.
