Question : Bilateral Agreements with Foreign Countries

a) whether the Government has signed any bilateral agreements with foreign countries in the field of education to strengthen international cooperation;
b) if so, the details thereof; and
c) whether the existing schemes for strengthening of international cooperation in the field of education have been revamped and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Yes, madam.

(b) The Government has signed Educational Exchange Programmes (EEPs) / Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs)/Joint Statements with 51 countries. The list of the countries is attached as Annexure-I.

(c) The existing schemes for strengthening of international cooperation in the field of education are continuously assessed and evaluated through various institutional mechanisms. Depending on the assessment, necessary mid-course corrections are undertaken with a view to strengthen international cooperation in the field of education.
