Question : NUMBER OF SSI AND AGRO RURAL INDUSTRIES IN GUJARAT

(a) the number of new small scale industries, agro and rural industries set up in Dahod and other districts of Gujarat since the year 1999-2000 till date;

(b) the expenditure incurred thereon;

(c) the month-wise job opportunities created on account thereof;

(d) the salary emoluments and other facilities provided to the male/female employees in these industries;

(e) the total assistance/grants extended to the above said industries separately;

(f) the number of such fresh industries proposed to be set-up in various areas of Dahod district during the year 2000-2001; and
(g) the amount of assistance proposed to be provided to these industries alongwith the number of people likely to be benefited there-from separately?

THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES AND AGRO AND RURAL INDUSTRIES (SMT. VASUNDHARA RAJE)

(a): As per the information received from the State Government of Gujarat, the number of new small scale industries, agro and rural industries set up in Dahod District in rural areas is 83 and in the other districts of Gujarat is 6320 during the year 1999-2000.

(b): The information is not maintained.

(c): The employment generated in the SSI during the year 1999-2000 in 249 in Dahod district and 18960 in other districts of Gujarat.

(d): The information is not maintained.

(e): The State Government of Gujarat extended total assistance to 28 SSI, Agro and Rural industries by way of State cash subsidy worth amounting Rs.103.74 lakhs for the year 1999-2000.

(f): The number of fresh industries target to set up in the year 2000-2001 is 70 in rural area and 90 in urban area, in Dahod district.

(g): Under the incentive scheme of the State Government of Gujarat, benefits would be available to the eligible units.
