(a) whether there has been a large number of cases of irregularity in printing of publicity material by India tourism offices at Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan and London;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether guidelines have been violated by India tourism offices located in foreign countries;
(d) if so, the details alongwith guidelines issued in this regard; and
(e) the steps taken by the Government to check wasteful expenditure by such offices?

(a) to (e): Production and distribution of publicity and promotional material is an ongoing promotional
activity of the Indiatourism offices overseas. Some observations had been made by the Audit party during
its periodic inspection of the Indiatourism offices in Frankfurt, Madrid, Milan and London, which have
been communicated to the offices concerned. Directions are also issued to the offices to follow prescribed
procedures.
