(a) & (b): As per the information received from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers
Association (SIAM), the production of cars have shown an increasing trend over the last two
years. However, in recent months, the production of cars have shown a declining trend. The
production of passenger cars during the last three years including the current year
(upto October, 2011) alongwith the percentage of change is given below:-

(d): The various steps taken in pursuance of Auto Mission Plan (2006-16) and the new Foreign
Trade Policy provides additional incentives which will expectedly boost the production, sales
and export of cars and commercial vehicles in the country.
