(a) to (c): The Government of India is implementing Coastal Security Scheme, in phases, to strengthen security of coastal areas against sea borne threats. The Coastal Security Scheme, among other things, envisages to augment the capabilities of police force of coastal states/UTs

for patrolling and surveillance in territorial waters especially shallow waters close to the coast. The Phase-I and II of the Schemes have been implemented during the period from 2005-2011 and 2011-2020 respectively.
Under the Scheme, 204 Coastal Police Stations have been operationalised. In addition, 204 boats, 36 jetties, 284 four-wheelers, 554 two-wheelers, 97 check-posts, 58 out-posts and 30 barracks, and navigation/communication equipment, detection equipment, card readers, equipment enhancing night operation capabilities of boats have been provided to the coastal states/UTs. An amount of Rs.132.06 crore has already been released for creation of infrastructure, including Coastal Police Stations, in Coastal States/UTs under the Phase-II (2011-2020) of the Scheme. The State/UT-wise list of Coastal Police Stations operational in the country and details of funds released during the last three years is at Annexure.
(d) & (e): All components under the Phase-I and Phase-II of the scheme, including physical and financial have been sanctioned in consultation with the respective coastal State/UTs including Kerala.
