Question : SCHOLARSHIP TO STUDENTS OF MINORITY COMMUNITIES

(a) whether the Ministry grant scholarships under various schemes to the students of Minority communities in various States including North Eastern States and Kerala;; if so, the details thereof, State-wise;

(b) the funds allocated, during the last three financial years and the current year, State/year-wise and scheme-wise; (

(c)the number of students awarded scholarships for pre-matrie, post-matric and higher education in various States including Karnataka during the last three years and the current year; and whether the Government has taken any decision to increase the amount of scholarship to meritorious students belonging to the Minority communities for providing higher education and if so, the details thereof?

(a)to (d): For Educational Empowerment of students belonging to the notified minority communities, this ministry implements three scholarship schemes i.e. Pre-matric, Post-matric and Merit-cum-Means based Scholarship Schemes. No State-wise financial allocation is made under these Scholarship Schemes; only tentative State-wise and community-wise physical targets is earmarked. The number of beneficiaries awarded scholarships and fund released under these schemes during the last three years and current year, scheme-wise and state-wise including North Eastern states, Kerala and Karnataka is annexed.
