(b) the total number of beneficiaries under PMKUSUM and total amount of revenue generated by them; and
(c) the extra capacity of solar energy expected to be installed after modification of PM-KUSUM in November 2020?

Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE (I/C) FOR NEW & RENEWABLE ENERGY, POWER and MoS for SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
(SHRI R.K. SINGH)
(a)&(b)The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is implementing the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme since 8 March 2019. Till 28.2.2021 total 24,688 standalone solar pumps have been installed and 64 grid-connected agriculture pumps have been solarised under Component-B and Component-C of the scheme respectively. Installation of decentralised grid connected solar power plants of capacity 4859 MW sanctioned under Component-A of the scheme is at different stages of progress. Therefore, total number of beneficiaries for whom installations are completed under the scheme till 28.2.2021 is 24,752.

Generation of revenue from sale of solar power is available under Component-A and Component-C. The projects under these components are either under installation or recently installed and revenue generated can be exactly assessed only on completion of one year of operation.

(c) With scale-up and expansion of PM-KUSUM Scheme, over 5 GW of extra solar capacity will be installed.
