Question : PROXY WAR BY PAKISTAN



(a) whether following the military take over of the Administration, Pakistan is determined to carry on the proxy war against India;

(b) if so, whether this proxy is likely to be carried in the form of disruptive activities through the ISI in West Bengal, UP, Kashmir and several North-eastern States; and

(c) if so, the details thereof and the action proposed to be taken in this regard?

(a): There is no noticeable change in Pakistan`s policy of proxy war against India after the military take over of administration in Pakistan.
(b): The major concerns of internal security centre around Pak sponsored terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and inter-linked and externally supported subversive activities of militant groups in the North-Eastern States. Some ISI backed modules were detected/neutralized recently in some other States as well.
(c): Government have adopted a well-coordinated and multi-pronged approach for tackling the activities of militants which includes strengthening the border management, neutralizing plans of militants by coordinated intelligence action, setting up of outposts of security forces and modernization and upgradation of police and security forces with advanced sophisticated weapons and communication system etc.
