Question : Purchase of New Aircraft-Airplanes

(a) whether India is expected to take deliveries of 2100 new aircraft/airplanes worth US $290 billion in the coming years;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether 85 per cent of the new planes in the country are likely to be single aisle with low cost carriers operating more than 60 per cent of all flights as per Boeing company''s current market outlook and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) whether India''s share would account for more than 5.1 per cent of the total global demand of 41,030 aircraft and if so, the details thereof?

STATEMENT IN RESPECT OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 81, REGARDING "PURCHASE OF NEW AIRCRAFTS/AEROPLANES" TO BE ANSWERED ON 21.12.2017; (a) and (b): The aircraft induction plan as provided by various Indian carriers is attached at Annexure A.; (c):The selection of the Single Aisle or Twin Aisle aircraft by airline, depends on the business plan of the airline concerned.; (d):No such analysis have been carried out by this Ministry.
