Question : NEAR MISS INCIDENTS IN SKY



(a) whether there has been an increase in the number of `near miss incidents` over Indian skies and at major airports in the country;

(b) if so, the details of such incidents which have taken place during the last three years and the current year along with the reasons therefor; and

(c) the steps taken or being taken by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to prevent such incidents?

(a) and (b): As per data available, there has been a decreasing trend in the number of Air Miss Incidents in the years 2012 & 2013 and 2014 (Till date) as compared to year 2011. The year-wise Air Miss Incidents details are as follows:
