Question : TRAINED PERSONNEL



(a) the ratio of women and men trained under various skill development programmes during each of the last three years and the current year, State-wise;

(b) whether the Government has set a target for providing skill training to 500 million youths by 2022;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the consultations held, if any, with the various State Governments in this regard;

(d) the enrolment of students in various vocational courses in the country during each of the last three years and the current year, course-wise;

(e) whether the Government has taken any action to develop skilled manpower to meet the requirement of different industries; and

(f) if so, the details thereof and the funds allocated therefor?

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (SHRI RAJIV PRATAP RUDY)

(a) 30% of all the seats for all the courses in all Government and Private ITIs are reserved for women candidates.

(b) & (c) National Policy on Skill Development, 2009 had set a target to train 500 million persons by year 2022. The allocated targets under the policy for different Ministries/Departments is attached as Annexure-I.

(d) to (f) There are over 70 skill development schemes across various sectors being implemented by over 20 Central Ministries/Departments to develop skilled manpower to meet the requirements of different industries. The achievements of Skill Development under these schemes are as below:-

Further, National Skill Development Corporation has incubated 33 Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) which are industry led bodies intended to align the skilling efforts as per the industry’s requirement.
