Question : Approval for Proposals

(a) the total number of proposals received by the Union Government from the State
Government of Maharashtra for approval thereon during the last three years;
(b) the total number of proposals approved/lying pending out of them; and
(c) the time by which the pending proposals are likely to be approved by the
Government?

(a) to (c): The details of proposals received from the State Government of
Maharashtra under various schemes of the Ministry during the last three years is as
under:-

(i) Samagra Shiksha
Under the centrally sponsored schemes of Sarva Shikhsa Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya
Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), and Teacher Education, separate proposals
were received during the year 2016-17 and 2017-18 under their Annual Work Plan &
Budget proposal. These schemes have been subsumed in the Integrated Scheme
for School Education- Samagra Shiksha from 2018-19. The interventions proposed
by States under the said schemes including Maharashtra are appraised, evaluated
and approved as per the norms of the scheme, physical & financial progress of the
State and availability of funds in consultation with the concerned States/UTs.
(ii) Mid Day Meal (MDM) Scheme
Under MDM, 11 proposals have been received from State of Maharashtra during the
last three years. There is no proposal pending.
(iii)Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) Scheme
Under RUSA, 70 eligible proposals have been received from State of Maharashtra
and approved by Project Approval Board (PAB) of RUSA during the last three years.
There is no proposal pending.
At present, no proposal for Opening of new medical, dental or Engineering
universities, new IITs, IIITs, IIIMs and IISERs have been received from the State of
Maharashtra.
