Question : Assessment of PMUY

(a) whether the Government has set any parameters to assess the outcome of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) especially with respect to the health of women and air pollution and if so, the details thereof;
(b) if not, whether the Government proposes to formulate any policy to assess the outcome;
(c) the number of women who have benefited from the gas connection under the Ujjwala Scheme in Uttar Pradesh along with details thereof;
(d) the number of women provided with gas connection till now in the parliamentary constituency of Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh and Wardha and Amravati districts in Maharashtra along with the details thereof;
(e) whether any annual targets were set under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to provide gas connection in Uttarakhand, if so, the details thereof during the last two years; and
(f) whether set targets have been achieved and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b) Government is undertaking third party evaluation of various continuing schemes before the end of 14th Finance Commission’s cycle.
(c) Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have released more than 1.47 crore LPG connections in the State of Uttar Pradesh under PMUY.
(d) The details of LPG connections released under PMUY in the district of Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh State, Wardha and Amravati districts in Maharashtra State are as under :-

(e) & (f) No State/UT-wise target was fixed to release LPG connections under PMUY. However, the target of providing 8 crore LPG connections under PMUY has been achieved on 7th September, 2019. OMCs have released 4.04 lakh LPG connections under PMUY in the State of Uttarakhand.
