(a) Under the Department of Atomic Energy, there is no organisation known as National Fuel Complex. However, the performance of Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), Hyderabad during 2003-04 was satisfactory.

(b) The targets for production set by NFC Board for various products were exceeded during 200304. NFC supplied natural and enriched uranium oxide fuel bundles as required by M/s. Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. for their operating power stations and zirconium alloy structural components like coolant tubes, calandria tubes and reactivity and shut-off devices for the pressurised heavy water reactors under construction.

(c) Yes, Sir.

(d) Capacities of some of the existing plants are being augmented and some new plants being added. NFC is setting up a Zirconium Oxide and Sponge plant at Palayakayal, near Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu. The project related work is in progress.
