Question : Drip Irrigation

(a) whether the Government is giving subsidy for drip irrigation in the country;

(b) if so, the details of the subsidy given during the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise;

(c) the number of farmers benefited from the drip irrigation subsidy in the country including Karnataka, during the said period, State-wise;

(d) whether the Government proposes to increase the subsidy to 100% to install drip irrigation for all agricultural crops to ensure minimum use of groundwater; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(b): The State-wise position regarding funds released by Central Government for Micro Irrigation (which includes both drip and sprinkler irrigation) during the last three years and current year is given in statement at Annexure-I.

(c): The number of farmers benefited under Centrally Sponsored Scheme on Micro Irrigation (which includes both drip and sprinkler irrigation) in the country including Karnataka during last 3 years and current year is given in statement at Annexure-II.

(d): No, Madam.
