Question : Adult Education Centres for Muslim Women

(a) whether one thousand additional Adult Education Centres are going to be set up exclusively for Muslim women in Gram Panchayats where Muslim population is more than five thousand and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the number of Gram Panchayats in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana that have more than five thousand Muslim population, district-wise;
(c) the status of setting up of Adult Education Centres in above districts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; and
(d) whether special emphasis has been given to this programme in this year’s Budget and if so, the details thereof?

(a) No, Sir.

(b) This Ministry does not maintain details of Gram Panchayats and Districts having more than Five Thousand Muslim population. However, Ministry is implementing Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK), a centrally sponsored scheme, in 1300 Minority Concentration Areas (MCAs) across the country having more than 25% of minority population and also backward as compared to the national average. Within the State of Telangana, 1District HQ, 3 Blocks and 8 Towns have been identified as MCAs and in the State of Andhra Pradesh 7 Blocks and 12 Towns have been identified as MCAs.

(c) & (d) Does not arise in view of (a) above.
