(a) whether the Government proposes to implement any scheme to promote use of LPG or CNG based generators to make environment pollution free;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) if not, the steps taken by the Government to replace diesel generators?

(a) to (c) While there are gensets available which are driven by alternative fuels like LPG or Natural Gas, there is no scheme in the Ministry to promote the use of such gensets. Further, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has notified noise and emission limit of generator sets driven by
1. Dedicated Natural Gas or LPG
2. Petrol and Natural Gas or Petrol with LPG
3. Diesel with Natural Gas or Diesel with LPG
