(a) whether the work on Central University Kashmir at Tullmula has been stopped in the
designated/identified site with the result the campus is non-functional at Ganderbal and the
Authorities are paying rent in crores to the rented buildings at Srignagr;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c): The construction work on Central University of Kashmir at Tullmula was
stopped but it has now been resumed at the identified site. Seven departments of the
University are functional at Ganderbal District. Boys hostel and one girls hostel have also
been made functional at Ganderbal. University was paying a total monthly rent of Rs.
58,40,609/- as rent for the hired buildings at Srinagar and in view of the shifting of the
University from Srinagar to Ganderbal, the monthly rent has come down to Rs. 32,90,300/-
only.
