Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION (SHRI V. SREENIVASA PRASAD)

The NCCF is an autonomous cooperative organization having its own Board of Directors to take decision on the business and administrative matters. The Government of India do not interfere in such matters. The NCCF has, however, informed that they are purchasing most of the branded items from the manufacturers/distributors. Only such items, for which the NCCF does not have any arrangement with the manufacturers/distributors, are purchased from suppliers registered with NCCF after ensuring their rates and quality. The NCCF has further informed that supply arrangement made by them is reviewed periodically and corrective steps, wherever necessary, are taken to ensure supply of quality goods at competitive prices.
