(a) the details of railway projects received from Jharkhand during the last one year;
(b) the action taken on each such proposal;
(c) the details of the ongoing/pending rail projects and surveys in Jharkhand along with the progress made therein;
(d) the expenditure incurred thereon, project-wise; and
(e) the other works undertaken for improvement and expansion of rail network in Jharkhand?
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS ( SHRI BANDARU DATTATRAYA )
(a) to (d) : Ministry of Railways have not received any proposal for a
new Railway project from the Government of Jharkhand during the
last one year. Railways have, however, entered into a Memorandum-
of-Understanding with the Government of Jharkhand for execution of
certain specified projects on cost sharing basis.
Details of all ongoing projects in Jharkhand, including
expenditure on each project by the end of March, 2002 and their
progress are given in Appendix.
Details of ongoing surveys in the state of Jharkhand are as under:-

Land acquisition papers for this section have been submitted to State Govt. Work has been taken up.
3 Giridih- ER 145.00 7.26 Final location survey has Koderma been completed. Part estimate (Koderma-Maheshpur 20.5 km.) has been sanctioned. Earthwork & bridges on Koderma-Koderma Town (10 km) has been taken up.
4 Koderma-Ranchi ER 859.79 55.01 Final location survey has been completed. Land papers have been filed with the State Govt. and part land taken over. Earthwork and bridge works have been taken up.
5 Koderma- ER 261.05 0.01 Final location survey is in Tilaiya progress. Land acquisition has been processed. Work would be taken up once land is handed over by State Government.
6 Rampurhat- ER 170.47 14.46 Final location survey has Mandarhill via been completed. Land Dumka acquisition have been processed. The work would be started once the land is made available by the State Government.
Gauge Conversion
7 Ranchi- SER 185.31 22.89 The work for widening of Lohardaga with formation completed for a extension to length of 37 km out of 69 Tori km between Ranchi-Lohardaga. On Tori- Lohardaga (44 km) new line portion, fiinal location survey has almost been completed and report is under finalisation.
