(a) whether the Commission constituted to review Centre-State relations is working satisfactorily;

(b) if so, the number of sittings held so far alongwith the details of issues on which the Commission has concluded discussion and the action taken by the Government thereon;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor; and

(d) the time by when the report of the said Committee is likely to be submitted?

(a): Yes, Sir.

(b): The Commission has already held more than twenty meetings and has decided on the approach and methodology to be followed and formulated a comprehensive plan of action.The Commission has also issued a Public Notice detailing its terms and conditions and inviting an initial response. Further, the Commission has circulated a draft Questionnaire to all the States/UTs, Union Ministries/Departments, major political parties, Constitutional experts and other stakeholders to make the question-formulation process participatory and transparent.The Commission has held its first regional workshop for initiating a structured process of consultation with stakeholders and their participation on specific themes/subjects.

(c): Does not arise.

(d): The Commission, which has been set up vide Gazette notification dated the 27th April, 2007, has been mandated to submit its report within two years.
