(a) to (d): The data regarding number of trained Yoga Instructors/Professionals, working at present in the country, State/UT wise, is not maintained by the Ministry.
There are no permanent and contractual Yoga Instructors in the Ministry.
The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is having 5 posts of Yoga Instructors, out of which 3 are in position and 2 posts are vacant. Their remuneration is Rs.29,200/- pm (level 5 minimum) – 7th CPC.
The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), an autonomous body under the Ministry, has 6 regular posts of Yoga Instructors and 28 posts of Yoga Instructors on contractual basis. The remuneration of regular Yoga Instructors is PB-2 – Rs.9300-34800, with GP of Rs.4200/- + allowances and that of the contractual Yoga Instructors is Rs.27000/- pm (consolidated). The qualification for the post is a Degree in Yoga with minimum 55% marks from a recognized University under UGC Act or any Graduate with minimum 55% marks from a recognized University under UGC Act with one year Diploma in Yoga Education/Yoga Study/Yoga Science from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 55% marks.
The National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), an autonomous body under the Ministry, does not have any permanent post of Yoga Instructor. It has 2 posts of Yoga Instructors on contractual basis, at a consolidated remuneration of Rs.15000/- pm. The qualification for the post is Graduate with one year Diploma in Yoga from an Institute of repute and with one year experience in the field.
The Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN), an autonomous body under the Ministry, is not having permanent post of Yoga Instructors. The CCRYN hires Yoga Instructors through outsourcing agencies, as and when required.
The qualifications for Yoga Instructors is a full time regular Degree in Yoga/M.A. (Yoga)/M.Sc. (Yoga) from a recognized University or any Degree from a recognized University with full time regular one year Diploma in Yoga (after Degree) from a recognized University or an Institute of repute, with one year professional experience. The consolidated remuneration of hired Yoga Instructor is Rs.27000/- pm.
There are 4 Yoga Chikitsa Kendras working under CGHS in Delhi at the following locations.
(i) CGHS Wellness Centre Sector-8 RK Puram
(ii) CGHS Wellness Centre Tilak Nagar
(iii) CGHS Wellness Centre Kalibari Marg
(iv) CGHS Wellness Centre Laxminagar
The MDNIY is having 19 Preventive Health Care Units (PHCUs) in 19 CGHS Dispensaries in Delhi and NCR, where it is running Yoga Units, as follows:-
