(a) Yes, Madam.
(b) Export Inspection Council of India (EIC) registers the milk and milk products manufacturing units for
export and provides technical assistance for promoting good hygiene practices, good manufacturing practices
and infrastructure development. Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)
provides assistance to its registered exporters which includes the exporters of milk
and milk products under the following financial assistance schemes:
(i) Scheme for Quality Development - Exporters are encouraged to improve quality constantly of their produce.
They are extended financial assistance for up-gradation of lab within the unit and assistance is given for
implementing international quality systems such as HACCP, ISO, etc.
(ii) Scheme for Market Development- Exporters are encouraged to participate under the APEDA banner
for various trade fairs abroad to interact and negotiate with the buyers.
State-wise financial assistance provided by APEDA during the last three years and the current
year is as under:

(c) Steps taken by APEDA for promotion of export of milk and milk products include:
a. EIC is registering the milk and milk products manufacturing units for export. APEDA is a member of the EIC
Inter Departmental Panel for approval of registering of dairy units for export. The Inter Departmental panel
while visiting the dairy units help them to improve in terms of good hygiene practices, good manufacturing
practices and infrastructure development.
b. APEDA acts as facilitating body for helping exporters overcome trade related issues particularly
relating to exports.
c. APEDA regularly disseminates information of various trade related aspects to the exporters.
d. APEDA provides assistance to its registered exporters, which includes the exporters
of milk and milk products, under the following financial assistance schemes:
(i) Scheme for Quality Development
(ii) Scheme for Market Development
(iii) Scheme for Transport Assistance
e. Participation in Trade Fairs to create awareness of Indian products.
