Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (IC) FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SHRI BANDARU DATTATREYA)

(a) to (d): The Ministry is implementing the National Career Service (NCS) Project as a Mission Mode Project for transformation of the National Employment Service to provide a variety of employment related services like career counselling, vocational guidance, information on skill development courses, apprenticeship, internships, etc. A national portal has been developed for providing online registration of candidates for availing these services, online posting of employment oppor- tunities and other services. The NCS is suppo- rted by Call Centre/Helpdesk. The services under NCS are accessible from multiple deli- very channels like NCS Portal, Employment Exchanges (Career Centres), etc. The NCS has a knowledge repository of career content and online tools. The Project has an approved outlay of Rs. 292.20 crores during the 12th Five Year Plan.

(e) & (f): The NCS Project was developed after series of consultations with stakeholders like State Governments, industry, industry associa- tions, training providers, academia, etc. Suggestions & comments on Career Centres were also sought from public through my.Gov.in portal. The inputs from these consultations were incor- porated in the NCS Project. The portal is avai- lable for public use on the testing and develo- pment website at www.ncsportal.in
