Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT & POVERTY ALLEVIATION ( SHRI PON RADHAKRISHNAN )

(a)&(b): DDA has reported that the allotment of flats in Rohini has not yet been made. Rohini HIG Housing Scheme, 2003 has been closed on 15.7.2003 and draw for allotment of flats is scheduled for August 2003. In Dwarka, out of 940 HIG category flats allotted on 12.3.2003, 551 flats have been surrendered by the allottees.

(c)to(f): Free market conditions in housing sectors have resulted in providing more options to the allottees which may be one of the reasons for surrender of flats. DDA takes into account various options to meet the housing demands in the market, which is no longer seller driven.
